Yamate Chocolatier Dark Chocolate
I'm not sure if this is a new product or not. I picked up a bar of this last week because the
La Nouba dark chocolate bar I usually get at my grocery store was all sold out. I have to
say this is one really yummy chocolate bar. It's definitely far from the taste of a hershey's
bar, but to me that's good. It's so chocolately tasting that a few squares is enough to stop
my chocolate cravings. It comes as a bar about the size of a hershey bar and it's shaped
in little rectangles like a hershey's bar. The serving size is half the bar (28g). Probably the
best part of it all is I entered the info into the hidden carb calculator and it has less carbs
than the package says. The package says each serving has 2g net carbs, while the
hidden carb calculator says 1.19g.
I suppose the real reason I'm posting all this is because part of me thinks this chocolate
bar is too good to be true. Also, I've read a lot in health magazines lately about dark
chocolate being beneficial because of the antioxidants in it. Does anyone know would low
carb dark chocolate also include these benefits?
If you're more of an Organic chocolate lover, Yamate Chocolate has come out with a new
bar in their line of chocolate too! Now, to go along with the plain Milk or Dark Chocolate
bar, or the Dark Chocolate with Almonds comes a Dark Chocolate with orange. Now this
bar doesn't just have orange flavoring added to it, it actually has real Orange PIECES in
it!!! So if you like a chocolate that has a little orange taste to it, why not give this a try?

I received my chocolate today and just wanted to thank you
for making such a good tasting and healthy 70% cocoa no sugar
chocolate. Its perfect. My sugar level rose very little as opposed to
Dove chocolate which raises it 20 points.

Wow! I am blown away!

Wow" is the only way to describe this. New to the sugar-free world, I have recently had
some distasteful experiences with sugar-free products. So I half wondered if I'd end up
chucking this stuff in disgust after trying it. Boy was I in for a surprise.
I'd tried Lindt and Ghiradelli 70% chocolates and frankly I had to choke them down. One
taste of this and I realized I might have to ignore the warning on the label not to eat too
much. Rich and smooth is how I'd describe it. I am just amazed that a sugar-free food
could beat two of the most decadent names in chocolate.

Superb low carb chocolate
I came across this chocolate in Seattle in May 2004. I have tried both the dark chocolate
and milk chocolate versions, and found the milk chocolate version to be my preference. (I
generally prefer dark choclate because of the rich full chocolate flavor.) The Yamate milk
chocolate was as rich and full flavored as most dark chocolates, so I was more than
pleased - and satisfied - with the milk chocolate version. I did find the chocolate so rich
that, a full slab later, I was on a strong caffeine buff, so buyer beware; this is the real
thing. The sweetener, maltilol, luckily has no effect on me. I avoid products containing
sucralose (Splenda) because this sweetener messed up my liver enzymes big time, and
made me ill and nauseous. (On a side note, fellow low carb dieters, please do your
research on sucralose; my doctor thought it was my lipitor that was affecting my liver -
turned out it was sucralose.) So, the Yamate Chocolatier milk chocolates are ideal for me
on my low carb diet, and meet my demands for a rich, European style, genuine chocolate
product which I can relish on my diet.

Purchased this bar along with the almond bars. Both were amazing and I will purchase
again. I have tried them all, but these are by far superior. Have liked the Pure De-lite
Imported Pure Belgian Chocolate Bars in the past, but tried these and will not go back.
Nothing comes close to the rich taste and texture in SugarFree and carb lite bars. At
approximately $1/oz, a fair price for a great product! I also received an email from the
company asking of I needed special cold shipping since I lived in Texas. I have purchased
since and will buy again.
